FAQ
Sleeves & Card Protection
What size cards do your standard sleeves fit?
Our BCW Standard Card Sleeves fit any card that's 2.5" x 3.5" (the standard size for Pokemon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, sports cards, and most modern TCG). If the card was printed in the last 30 years, it almost certainly fits.
What's the difference between standard sleeves and graded sleeves?
Standard sleeves fit raw (ungraded) cards. Graded sleeves are sized to fit the larger plastic slabs from PSA, BGS, CGC, and SGC. If your card is in a graded slab, you need graded sleeves. If it's a regular card, standard sleeves.
How thick are your sleeves?
The Standard Card Sleeves are 2 mil polypropylene. Thick enough to protect from scratches and dust, thin enough to slide easily into a toploader. The Resealable Graded Card Sleeves are also archival-quality polypropylene sized for slabs.
Can I use these for deck building?
Absolutely. The 1000-count Standard Card Sleeves are built for deck builders and bulk sleeving. At less than a penny per sleeve, they're the most cost-effective protection for Modern, Standard, Commander, or any format.
What are Team Set Bags actually for?
Team set bags hold 25 to 35 sleeved cards in one resealable pouch. Use them to keep complete sets together, organize trade lots, or group sleeved cards that need to stay associated (like a complete Pokemon team set or a trade binder section).
Toploaders & Holders
What's the difference between a toploader and a semi-rigid holder?
Toploaders are rigid plastic sleeves with a closed bottom. Best for shipping single cards or displaying valuable singles. Semi-rigid holders are flexible enough to slide cards in and out easily without scratching. The semi-rigid is the standard for sending cards to PSA, BGS, or CGC for grading.
Can I submit cards to PSA in your semi-rigid holders?
Yes. The BCW Semi-Rigid Card Holders #1 are accepted by PSA, BGS, and CGC for grading submissions. That's literally what they're designed for.
Do your 3x4 toploaders fit thick cards?
The 35pt toploaders fit most modern TCG cards (around 0.012" thick). They're not designed for thicker cards like patch cards, jersey relics, or super-thick chase pulls. For those, you'd want 75pt, 100pt, or higher toploaders (which we may carry later as we expand).
Should I always use a penny sleeve before putting a card in a toploader?
Yes. Always. A toploader without a sleeve scratches the card when it slides in and out. Penny sleeve first, then into the toploader. That's the universal collector workflow.
Shipping
How fast do you ship?
Orders go out in 2 to 4 business days, Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Most orders ship within 48 hours.
Where do you ship?
Contiguous United States only via USPS. We don't currently ship to Hawaii, Alaska, US territories, APO/FPO addresses, or PO Boxes. International shipping isn't available yet.
How is shipping calculated?
Real-time USPS rates calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. No flat rate, no surprises. You see the exact cost before you pay.
How are my orders packed?
Every order ships in a protective mailer sized for accessories. Cards and sleeves are kept flat and snug. We've shipped thousands of orders from our eBay singles operation, so the packing process is dialed.
Can I track my order?
Yes. You'll get a confirmation email with USPS tracking once your order ships. Use that link, or check your order status anytime by clicking "Track your order" in any email from us.
Returns & Damages
What's your return policy?
30 days from delivery, on unopened items in original packaging. Email us at support@shinycardstcgshop.com to start a return. We provide return instructions; don't ship returns without contacting us first.
Can I return opened packs of sleeves?
Once opened, sleeves and accessories can't be returned. It's an industry-wide standard since opened packs can't be resold. If something arrives damaged or defective, that's different (see below).
What if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days of delivery at support@shinycardstcgshop.com with photos of the damage. We make it right (replacement or refund, whichever you prefer).
About Shiny Cards
Are these the real BCW brand?
Yes. We source directly through authorized BCW supply channels. No knockoffs, no off-brand, no rebranded generic. Every product on our site is the genuine BCW article you'd buy from any other authorized reseller.
Why buy from you instead of Amazon or eBay?
Honestly? We use this gear ourselves. We run a small Pokemon, MTG, and Yu-Gi-Oh! singles operation on eBay, and over years of shipping cards we've tested every accessory we sell. We won't stock anything we wouldn't put our own inventory in. That's the difference.
Will you carry other brands besides BCW?
Eventually, yes. We're planning to expand to Dragon Shield, Ultra Pro, and other respected TCG accessory brands. Right now we're focused on doing BCW well before we scale.
Do you sell trading cards too, or just accessories?
This shop is accessories-only. Our trading card singles (Pokemon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!) are sold on eBay. The Shiny Cards site is specifically for protection: sleeves, toploaders, holders, bags.
