How Shiny Cards started
Shiny Cards started as a side project. I run a small Pokemon, MTG, and Yu-Gi-Oh! singles operation on eBay, and over time I kept reordering the same BCW supplies. The toploaders that ship every order. The sleeves that hold the inventory. The bags that keep complete sets together. I noticed I was ordering enough of them that I knew which ones actually worked and which ones I'd never buy again.
So I started Shiny Cards. A small accessories shop selling only the gear I personally use to protect cards in my own collection and inventory.
What makes Shiny Cards different
There are plenty of places to buy card protection. Amazon, eBay, TCGplayer, big-box stores. Most of them treat accessories as filler products. They stock whatever shows up in the supplier catalog and never test it themselves.
We don't pad the catalog. Every BCW product on this site has protected cards in my own inventory before it ever shipped to you. If a toploader scratches cards, I won't sell it. If a sleeve fits weird, it doesn't make the catalog. The whole point is that you can trust what you're getting because I'm using the same gear.
The brands we carry
Right now, Shiny Cards is BCW exclusive. BCW has been making card protection since the 1970s and they're the standard for shipping, grading, and storage. Their sleeves, toploaders, and semi-rigid holders are accepted by PSA, BGS, and CGC for grading submissions. It's the gear professional graders trust, which is good enough reason for us.
We'll add other brands as we scale. Dragon Shield, Ultra Pro, and other respected names. But we'd rather sell BCW well than stock a dozen brands we don't actually use ourselves.
How we ship
Every order ships in a protective mailer sized for accessories. Cards and sleeves stay flat and snug. Most orders ship within 2 to 4 business days from Houston, TX via USPS. You get tracking the moment your package leaves.
If something arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with photos and we'll make it right. That's not corporate-speak. It's the same promise I make on my own eBay listings.
The plan from here
The next 12 months for Shiny Cards: expand the BCW lineup, add Dragon Shield and Ultra Pro, build out bundles for specific use cases (graders, deck builders, slab collectors), and keep the catalog tight. We won't grow into a 10,000-SKU accessories megastore. We'll grow into the best place to buy the 100 accessories that actually matter.
